Vegan Street: Eating Vegan Diet Would Save Average Household 5,500 Gallons of Water Each Day
Per Vegan Street: "The average American household uses 5,500 gallons of water each day just to produce the animals they eat. It would be hard for a vegan family to waste that much water."
"Animal Agriculture requires a LOT of water. Not only do all these billions of animals drink a lot, and so much more is used to bathe and cool them and also to clean up after their not so lucky last day, but collectively, they eat most of the nation's grain, and it takes a lot of water to grow all of that. There are several sources (and a lot of math) that went into this meme, and they can all be found here."
In comparison, cutting off two minutes of shower time only conserves FIVE gallons of water!
